Twin Disc Corks offer the ideal balance between whole cork and agglomerated cork, providing superior quality at an excellent price point. The natural cork ends ensure your wine comes into contact with authentic cork bark, reducing cork shredding and improving the overall experience for both the wine and corkscrew. The microagglomerated core is TCA-free, while the disc ends undergo the Genesis® treatment, effectively removing volatile compounds that can lead to cork taint.
Key Features:
- Natural Cork Ends: Whole cork ends guarantee minimal cork shredding and provide direct contact with authentic cork bark, preserving the quality of your wine.
- Microagglomerated Core: TCA-free, ensuring no unwanted flavors or cork taint in your wine.
- Genesis® Treatment: Disc ends undergo a specialized treatment that eliminates volatile compounds, ensuring a clean, pure cork that won't affect your wine's taste.
- Size: 24mm X 44mm, #9 x 1.75" | Fits standard cork finish (neck) bottles.
- Aging Recommendation: Ideal for wines aged up to 3 years.
- Sustainably Sourced: Molinas Cork has been sustainably harvesting cork from the protected forests of Sardinia for over 100 years. The bark is allowed to mature an additional year before harvest, resulting in less porous, higher-quality cork.
- Professional Use: These corks are designed for use with automatic corkers. They are not recommended for hand corkers that don't apply sufficient compression.
Molinas Cork – A Tradition of Excellence
Italy is the world’s largest wine producer, and Molinas is its leading cork supplier, producing over 1 billion corks annually. Founded more than 100 years ago by Pietro Molinas on the island of Sardinia, Molinas Cork is known for its commitment to sustainable harvesting from government-protected cork oak forests. These forests, renowned for their biodiversity and beauty, contribute to the high-quality cork that Molinas is famous for.
Today, the fourth generation of the Molinas family continues this legacy, ensuring that every cork meets the highest standards of quality control. By allowing the cork bark to mature an additional year, Molinas provides a less porous, higher-quality cork with minimal environmental impact.
